Jennifer Fredericks appointed as President of the Executive Board of Women in Public Finance
SOLVE would like to congratulate their very own Jennifer Fredericks, Sales Director, for her appointment as President of the Executive Board of Women in Public Finance (WPF), effective January 2024. She has been actively involved with WPF since 2015, contributing significantly as a national board member since 2019, particularly in orchestrating their prominent annual conference.
WPF, established in 1997 by four women in Chicago, has grown into a key national entity, empowering women in public finance through educational initiatives, forums, and relationship-building. The organization boasts 23 chapters and over 950 members, continuously enhancing opportunities for women in the sector. WPF hosts an annual conference that is a major event for public finance professionals to exchange knowledge and network.
Fredericks’ vision for her presidency at WPF is to leverage the organization’s collective strength and network, focusing on empowerment, knowledge sharing, and collective success.
“Empowering women in public finance isn’t just about closing the gender gap; it’s about unlocking the full potential of our industry by embracing diverse perspectives and fostering an environment where every voice can thrive,” she said. “Advancing Women in Public Finance is about creating bridges to amplify our collective impact and pave the way for a more inclusive and empowered future in public finance.”
Fredericks possesses a diverse professional background, essential for her new leadership role. Before joining SOLVE, she developed her expertise at Ice Miller LLP as the Director of Business Development for Public Finance and spent eight years at BNY Mellon, ascending to Vice President in Business Development for the Corporate Trust Group. At BNY Mellon, she focused on public finance and municipal non-profits, with additional responsibilities in project finance and public-private partnerships. Her career also includes a six-year tenure at JPMorgan as an Assistant Vice President of Securities, leading a team of relationship managers.
Rounding out her leadership qualifications, Fredericks was the Regional President and Vice President of Product Program and Retail Operations for the Girl Scouts of Greater Chicago and Northwest Indiana. Moreover, she’s an adjunct professor at Calumet College of Saint Joseph, her alma mater, where she also serves as a board trustee. Fredericks holds an M.B.A. from Purdue University.
Fredericks’ comprehensive experience in public finance and her prominent roles across various organizations position her well to steer WPF forward. Her commitment to the industry extends beyond WPF and includes her involvement with Northeast Women in Public Finance, where she earned the Trailblazer award in 2021.
As she prepares to lead WPF, Fredericks is dedicated to promoting an inclusive environment that acknowledges and values the contributions of women in public finance, aiming to unlock the industry’s full potential through diverse perspectives and leadership. Her appointment is a significant milestone in her career and a testament to her dedication and expertise in the field.
